This past weekend, the vibrant colours of Holi filled the streets of Hatfield as Rosemary Bookkeeping hosted a spectacular Holi Festival. It was the first time the festival of colours was celebrated in the town.

Welwyn Hatfield Council has confirmed its support for making the festival an annual event, with Nirmal from Rosemary Bookkeeping Garden City set to organise the celebration again next year.

The Holi Festival, which marks the arrival of spring, renewal, and the triumph of good over evil, was a celebration of unity and friendship.

Participants enjoyed traditional activities such as throwing colourful powders, music performances, traditional dances, and a variety of delicious foods, all while celebrating the Hatfield community’s diversity.

The Mayor of Hatfield welcomed everyone on the day with warm words of celebration.

“It is a real pleasure to be here with you today to celebrate Holi, the festival of colours. Today is particularly special as this is the first Holi celebration of its kind here in Hatfield. It is wonderful to see so many people coming together to mark such a joyful and meaningful festival. Holi reminds us that after every winter comes a new season of hope, colour, and happiness. The colours we share today symbolise unity, friendship, and the beauty of diversity within our communities.”

The mayor also expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make today possible – the organisers, performers and community partners who have worked hard to bring this fantastic event to Hatfield.”

The Holi Festival was a great success, with families, friends, and neighbours enjoying a memorable day. Nirmal, the organiser behind the event, is delighted with the turnout and the warm community response.

“It was wonderful to see so many people come together to celebrate Holi and embrace the spirit of unity and friendship. We’re excited to make this an annual event and look forward to next year’s festival!”

This lively celebration has definitely left a lasting impression on the Hatfield community, and the event’s success is likely to become a cherished tradition for years to come.

Rosemary Bookkeeping Garden City is proud to have contributed to bringing this joyful and inclusive event to the heart of Hatfield. The company looks forward to continuing its commitment to supporting the local community through cultural celebrations and events.

Here’s to many more colourful celebrations in the years ahead!

Nirmal, owner of Rosemary Bookkeeping Garden City, has been nominated for the Community Culture Award at the One Welwyn Hatfield Community Awards 2026.

The ceremony takes place tomorrow evening (Thursday 26th February 2026), when the winner will be revealed.

For Nirmal, this nomination is not about trophies. It reflects years of supporting local businesses across Welwyn Garden City and the wider Welwyn Hatfield area. Over the last few years, Nirmal has hosted several cultural events in the area which have supported local communities in coming together to celebrate things like Diwali (Festival of Light) and Holi (Festival of Colour). Not only do these events bring together local communities but also support other local businesses in showcasing the very best of what they offer too.

More Than Just Bookkeeping

When you run a small business, your numbers matter. Cash flow matters. Deadlines matter. Compliance matters.

But so does having someone you trust.

Nirmal works closely with:

• Sole traders
• Contractors
• Limited companies
• Growing local SMEs

Services include VAT returns, payroll, CIS returns, and regular management reporting and more importantly, Making Tax Digital. The work is detailed and precise. Yet the approach is personal.

Clients often say they feel calmer once their bookkeeping is under control. They understand their figures. They know where they stand. That clarity changes how you run your business.

Why This Nomination Means So Much

The Community Culture Award recognises individuals who strengthen the local business environment. It celebrates people who contribute to the wider community, not just their own success.

Small businesses make up 99.9 percent of the UK business population. In Welwyn Garden City, they support local jobs, families, and high streets. When those businesses are financially organised, the whole community benefits.

Nirmal has built strong relationships with local trades, retailers, and professional services. She attends events. She supports networking groups. She takes time to explain things properly. That consistency builds trust.

Tomorrow’s Awards Ceremony

Tomorrow evening will bring together finalists from across Welwyn Hatfield. It will be a celebration of people who give their time, skills, and energy to their community.

Whatever the result, being shortlisted is already an achievement. It recognises dedication, reliability, and genuine care for local businesses.

If you are a business owner in Welwyn Garden City, this nomination should give you confidence. You are working with someone who is not only qualified and experienced but also recognised for her contribution to the local community.

Rosemary Bookkeeping Garden City continues to support businesses with practical, compliant bookkeeping. And tomorrow, the community gathers to celebrate that commitment.

All the best Nirmal, we look forward to celebrating your success so far!
